Diana glanced up at Peggy with a somewhat apologetic look in her eyes. "Nothing wrong-wrong," she said. "I mean, it's kinda silly. But...I painted my nails. And the last time I looked at them, they were purple."
Also, she'd been wearing clothes.
She bit her lower lip. A bad habit, especially for a vampire, but one she'd never been able to break. "I'm just wondering if that means I've been out for...a while." It didn't seem likely that her kidnappers would have taken the time to give her a fresh manicure.
It wasn't that important, was it?
Vampires didn't get headaches, as a rule, but Diana could feel one coming on. There was a nagging fear. Like a hum, a song she couldn't quite remember. Was it possible she'd regressed? It did happen. Sometimes for years at a time. But she couldn't think what would have triggered a blackout. She'd just been walking down the side of a road.
She curled her fingers in on themselves. "Uh, this may be barking up the wrong tree here, but...is your hair longer than you remember it? That could mean we've been out a while, right?"
