Diana was gratified that Spider-man had gone back to the redheaded girl. Although she tried to be open-minded about things like monogamy, the truth of the matter is that she was terribly old-fashioned. Still liked to believe in True Love and all of that. And, again, that upside-down kiss had been pretty hot.

"Well," she said, "it's gotta be either the people who brought us here, or people who are similar in nature. I figure we're either science or we're theatre. If it's science, we're being tested and observed by people in groovy future labcoats. If it's theatre...people on the same level as the ones in the groovy future labcoats, only with money and time for leisure."

Some things had to be universal. Human nature, for one thing. Diana believed in that when her faith in all other things wavered.

Which meant that whoever had taken them was probably closer to Cainites than humans.

She hopped up onto the armrests of the aisle seat nearest the projection booth, daintily going up on her toes to try to get a little bit closer. She couldn't reach the projection window, but she wasn't really expecting to see much inside, anyway.

"They said this was Maine, didn't they? 2007?" She went up on one foot. "That's impossible. 2007 is the past. So this is just a set. Like a movie."
