Of all the people to decide to talk to him, it was this glutton. Mithos had been trying to keep a low profile; between the foreboding message that his goal was to survive and the rapid realization that most of his strength was entirely gone...it would be idiotic to just move about freely. Even more so when his supposed role to play’s motivation was to turn a new leaf. Not knowing what would happen if he didn’t play his role wasn’t something he wanted to test just yet (maybe when that altercation happens—but that was getting ahead of himself).

If he wanted to look at it another way, playing out his role gave him a template for how to act until everything came together. If he was a former criminal who wanted to change, then he should surely say something about what was going on, shouldn’t he?
